Un journaliste respectable a dit « Je ne sais rien ». C’est courageux en ces temps où il faut parler quand on ferait mieux de se taire, c’est pourquoi je ne dirai rien de la guerre en cours en Ukraine, d’autant que la Covid et les accidents climatiques sont toujours là.
Mais comme le monde entier a les yeux tournés vers cette tragédie, j’apporterai juste quelques éléments historiques qui contribuent à l’éclairer.

Bien que le peuplement date de plusieurs millénaires, l’archéologie a, pour sa part, montré que la fondation de Kiev remonte au VIe ou au VIIe siècle et celle de l’Ukraine au 12 ème siècle.
Contrairement aux mensonges de Poutine, l’Ukraine existait bien il y a près d’un millénaire, sans parler des humains qui vivaient là depuis bien plus longtemps. Elle a connu des vicissitudes dans sa longue histoire et ce n’est pas la moindre surprise de voir un homme aussi féru d’histoire que Poutine n’en retenir que ce qui lui convient.

Quelques rappels :

En 1917 a eu lieu l’assassinat par les bolcheviques du tsar et de sa famille, mis en chanson par les Rolling Stones, à la suite de quoi l’URSS a été constituée. L’Ukraine comme d’autres pays y ont été incorporés ou dominés de force. La fin de l’Union soviétique engagée en 1985 leur a rendu la liberté.

Pearl Harbor dont on reparle ces temps-ci a consisté entre autres en une attaque « surprise » des avions japonais contre cette base militaire américaine à Hawai le 7 décembre 1941. Ce fut sans doute le point de départ de la guerre mondiale.

La Résistance, qui a laissé son nom à l’acte courageux des résistants français s’est amplifiée à partir de 1942.
Poutine parle de « dénazifier » l’Ukraine. Les nazis ont pris pour cible principale les Juifs dont ils ont assassiné 5 ou 6 millions et le Président Zelensky est juif. On cherche en vain la cohérence - il est vrai que Poutine n’est pas le seul à qui elle fasse défaut.

La 2ème guerre mondiale a été gagnée côté occidental en grande partie grâce à l’effort de guerre américain même si le héros qu’on cite le plus aujourd’hui est Winston Churchill, lui qui promettait aux Britanniques bombardés « du sang, de la sueur et des larmes ».

L’ordre que Washington a imposé ensuite s’est notamment traduit par une monnaie stable à 35$ l’once d’or, stabilité compromise par la fin des accords de Bretton woods en 1976 que les accords du Plaza en 1985 ont achevée.

La guerre de Corée en 1953 et la crise de Suez en 1956 avaient déjà fait craindre la guerre nucléaire.

L’invasion du Tibet par la Chine en 1959 s’est traduite par la mort de milliers de personnes.

La crise des fusées à Cuba en octobre 1962 à son tour a fait craindre comme aujourd’hui un conflit nucléaire mondial.

Les combats entre la Chine et l’URSS en 1969 ont également fait craindre un conflit nucléaire.

La guerre du Vietnam, gagnée par le Vietminh en 1975, a été directement à l’origine de l’instabilité monétaire car pour la financer, les Etats-Unis ont émis beaucoup de liquidités. Côté vietnamien, cette victoire a mis fin au colonialisme, processus engagé par Ho Chi Minh en 1920 où il a cofondé le PCF et 1930 où il a créé le PC Vietnamien.

Le père de Michèle Bachelot, Haute commissaire des Nations Unies aux réfugiés et chilienne, a été torturé puis assassiné à la suite du coup d’Etat du général Pinochet contre le Président Allende en septembre 1973.

L’accident qui a frappé le 26/4/1986 la centrale nucléaire de Pripiat (Ukraine) près de Tchernobyl a permis à un nuage radioactif de se diffuser bien au-delà, mais l’énergie nucléaire ne devait pas être remise en cause . Les pays membres du G7 ont financé la construction d’un sarcophage, terminé en 2019, censé empêcher toute sortie de matières radioactives. La Russie vient d’en « prendre le contrôle ». L’incendie, on l’espère sans dommages, qui a ravagé une annexe de la centrale de Zaporizhzhia et les 3 autres du pays montrent les dangers qu’y comporte l’énergie nucléaire.

Enfin, il faut, entend-on, trouver une « porte de sortie » à Poutine. La France sait faire, on n’a pas besoin de chercher très loin. Agathe Habyarimana qui, après l’attentat par missile contre le président Habyarimana en mars 1994, a joué un très grand rôle dans l’assassinat de 800 OOO à 1 million de Rwandais, est toujours hébergée en France. D’autres exemples existent.

Conclusion : massacres ou entreprises de domination et résistances sont innombrables dans l’Histoire, qui les retient davantage que les événements heureux. On s’épuiserait en vain à tenter de les recenser tant il y en a !
Merci aux lecteurs d’accepter le fait qu’on ne sait pas tout et, bien sûr, qu’on ne sait pas comment se terminera la guerre en cours. On peut espérer que les dégâts seront contenus…

A respectable journalist said “I don’t know”. It is bold in this era where so many people talk when they would better keep silent, that’s why I won’t write anything about the war happening in Ukraine, the more so because Covid and weather accidents are still here.
But since the whole world is watching that tragedy, I will just provide as a contribution some historical facts which give a few clarifications.

Although it has been populated for millenaries, archeology has showed that the foundation of Kiev goes back to the VI th or VIIth centuries and Ukraine to the 12th century.
Opposite to Putin’s lies, Ukraine definitely existed almost a millenary ago, without mentioning humans who lived there long before. There were ups and downs in its long history and it’s not a little surprise to see someone as fond of history as Putin to keep only what fits him.

A few reminders

In 1917, bolcheviks killed the tsar and his family, it became a song by the Rolling Stones and in the wake USSR was established. Ukraine as other countries were forcibly incorporated or ruled. The end of the Soviet Union which started in 1985 gave them back freedom.

Pearl Harbor which recently was mentioned again consisted among others in a “surprise” attack of Japanese airplanes against that American base in Hawai on the 7th December 1941. It was probably the starting point of World War II.

Resistance, which gave its name to the courageous actions of the French resistants, was amplified since 1942. Putin speaks of “denazify” Ukraine. The target of nazis were mainly Jews whose 5 or 6 Millions were killed and President Zelensky is a Jew. Coherence is nowhere to be found – Putin is not the only one who lacks any.

World War II was won on the western side mainly due to the American war machine although the most quoted hero today is Winston Churchill who promised Londonians injured by air bombs “Blood, sweat and tears”.
Washigton’s imposed order therafter included a stable currency : 35$ for one ounce of gold, a stabilty which was compromised by the end of the Bretton Woods agreements and abandoned by the Plaza agreements in 1985.
The Korean war in 1953 and the Suez crisis in 1956 raised already the fear of a nuclear war.
The invasion of Tibet by China in 1959 brought death to thousands of people.
The Cuban rockets crisis in 1962 again raised like today the fear of a nuclear war.
China-Soviet fights in 1969 also raised the fear of a nuclear war.
Vietnam war, won by the Vietminh in 1975, was at the very origin of the monetary instability since to fund it, the United states created a lot of money. On the Vietnamese side, victory put an end to the fight against colonialism, which had started with Ho Chi Minh in 1920 when he co-found the French Communist Party and created the Vietnamese Party in 1930.

The accident whcih stroke on 1986/4/26th the nuclear plant of Pripiat (Ukraine) near Chernobyl released a radioactive cloud which was spread all over, but the nuclear energy was not to be challenged. Members of the G7 funded the construction of a shelter, achieved in 2019 and supposed to prevent any release of radioactive substances. The fire, hopefully without damages, in an annex of Zaporishzhia and three others in the country exemplify the dangers of nuclear energy in such a place.
Finally, it is said that a way out should be offered to Putin. France among others knows how to do, there is no need to seek so much.
Agathe Habyarimana who, after the missile attack against President Habyarimana in March 1994, played a big part in the assassination of 800 000 to 1 million Rwandan people. She still lives in France. There are other examples.

Conclusion : there are a number of massacres or attempts to rule throughout History, which tells these stories more than happy events. One would collapse when trying to recall all of them !
